Safety

Safe enough to be open.

Meeting strangers is the product — so safety can't be a settings page. It's the architecture.

Everyone is a verified face

Nobody becomes visible on WEDDI without passing a selfie verification matched against their profile photos. No verified selfie, no discoverability — there is no browsing tier for unverified accounts. The blue shield on a profile means a real person, checked.

Your location is never shared

WEDDI never shows anyone your position — not a map pin, not a distance, not “500m away”. Other people can only ever see the name of a venue you chose to check in to, while you're open there. Location is read only while you use the app, never in the background.

You are invisible by default

Checking in shows you to no one. You become discoverable only when you tap “I'm Open” — a deliberate choice, scoped to one room, that expires on its own within hours. There is no ambient mode, no “active recently”, no way to be found while you're not choosing it.

One tap makes you vanish

Ghost Mode hides you everywhere, instantly: discovery, the room you're in, and your crossed-paths trail, all at once. It's one tap — long-press the Open button, or flip it in Settings — and it stays on until you decide otherwise. Active chats pause; nobody is notified.

Nothing follows you home

Openness expires in hours. Check-ins expire when you leave or shortly after. People you overlapped with can only reach you for a day, then the trail is gone. WEDDI is a moment, not a dossier — the mechanics are built on expiry.

Blocking works like it should

Block someone and you disappear from each other completely — discovery, crossed paths, chats — with no notification to them. Reports are categorized, reviewed, and acted on; verified-only membership means a ban actually removes a person, not just an account.

The room helps

WEDDI meetings start where you already are: public venues with people around. First hellos happen by the coffee stand at an expo or at a bar with staff ten feet away — not in anyone's DMs or car. It's the oldest safety feature there is, and the whole app is arranged around it.
